The Company or any other organisation may find during routine commercial sample testing of bunkered fuel oil that the properties of the fuel differ from that described in the BDN. It is important to be aware that although the ship may be consuming a technically non-compliant fuel, no blame should be attached to the ship if the fuel was received in good faith and in accordance with the requirements. Responsibility for confirmed non-compliance rests with the fuel supplier in this case.
